Very early on, from 1978 onward, real-world space exploration related articles were included in Starlog as background articles for illustrative purposes. This gave O'Quinn and Jacobs the idea to launch a true and similar sister magazine Future Life that broached the subject from the opposite site of the spectrum; real world space exploration articles, lightened up with articles stemming from the realm of science fiction film, television and literature. The magazine, featuring interviews with...

SHAMELESS EXPLOITATION OF A REVERED SCIENCE FICTION CASH COW It's here! The book that could have been thicker and more jam-packed with Facts and exposes, but wasn't. However, its disappointing size conceals a bumper collection of facts, both trivial and pointless, about Star Trek in all its incarnations, but especially the animated one. Within this uniquely portable volume you will find: • The silliest items of merchandise • The fattest members of Starfleet • Not much about Voyager really...

In fairness I have to say that what seems to be some sort of high-concept attempt to show man's place in the universe turns out instead to be a second rate collection of old SF pulp illustrations, NASA publicity shots, badly implemented two-page spreads and Star Trek. Lots of Star Trek. (Starbrite) "They've landed! They've landed!" With the initial panic over, the burning question is, "Where did They come from?" The authors of Alien Creatures now take you on an incredible...

The science fiction genre has offered fertile ground for film-makers since the late nineteenth century, giving us everything from forgettable nonsense like Astro-Zombies and I Married a Monster from Outer Space to some of the greatest films ever made: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Fritz Lang's Metropolis, the classic horror/SF movies of the thirties, and more. This volume of The Aurum Film Encyclopedia offers plot summaries and full statistical information on over 1,200 science fiction films, from the...

The Piper J-3 Cub is an American light aircraft that was built between 1937 and 1947 by Piper Aircraft. The aircraft has a simple, lightweight design which gives it good low-speed handling properties and short-field performance. The Cub is one of the best known light aircraft of all time. Its simplicity, affordability and popularity — as well as large production numbers with nearly 20,000 built in the United States — invokes comparisons to the Ford Model T automobile. The aircraft is a...

Beneath the Underground is the first in-depth exploration, from within, of the rapidly growing cultural phenomenon which received its name from author Bob Black: the "marginals milieu." You could also call it the do-it-yourself subculture. It consists of the perhaps 20,000 self-publishers of micro-circulation "zines" and other self-produced art, music, pamphlets, and posters. Bob Black has been a major figure in this subculture since the late 1970s. His previous books, The...

LOL, this book is starting from the huge assumption that the Government is to be trusted on the so called "moon landings" and then proceeds to make a case for the Moon already being inhabited. Well it's entertaining anyways!
